I was ten years old when I first held a welding machine in my hands. My father would take me to work with him, and sometimes we would work together in our home workshop. That's how I developed a dream of becoming a welder, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. By the time I enrolled in Lipetsk Industrial and Construction College after completing the ninth grade, I already knew how to use professional equipment and make simple connections.
During my
studies, I won several professional local and international competitions,
including regional WorldSkills championships, which led to me being selected
for the national team.
I spent six months at a special training base in Yekaterinburg. EuroSkills training sessions lasted for nine hours each day. We would weld, and then together with an expert, we would analyze my mistakes and then weld again. Throughout this time, I combined my preparation with my studies. Whenever I could, I would come to Lipetsk from Yekaterinburg, complete my assignments and then leave again.
Today, I have two gold medals to my name - from the World and European championships, as well as several awards for participation in non-scoring international competitions. My competition career is over, but now I am involved in no less interesting work - helping others to win as a coach, and I see great potential in this.
I love welding, so why would I engage in something that would be a burden to me?
